The USA is a paradise for hotels with indoor waterparks perfect for water-loving families. But with the numerous choices available, finding a hotel with a waterpark that fits your family’s taste can be a bit challenging.

As a parent who is an avid traveler, I have had the pleasure of visiting some of the leading hotels with indoor water parks with my family.

And from my experience, these are the three best hotels with indoor waterparks that I have come across.

Each has distinctive features and perks that set them apart from the competition.

1. Castaway Bay by Cedar Point Resorts– Sandusky, Ohio

This resort provides the ideal fusion for families with young children as well as couples looking for an elegant and romantic vacation.

It is a place where adventure meets relaxation, and excitement is around every corner.

The colorful and whimsical design of the resort transports you to a Caribbean island getaway.

There are spacious hotel rooms (237) and suites, including units geared towards family comfort. I must say that the rooms were cozy and comfortable, perfect for our family of five.

Once you are settled in, it is time to explore all the fantastic amenities. Enjoy the 38,000-square-foot indoor waterpark. And I must admit that this was my favorite part of the resort, especially for the kids.

We especially enjoyed the four-story water coasters, the heated wave pool, and the tube rides. The kids had a blast racing each other down the slides and playing in the wave pool. I even managed to get in on the fun, taking turns riding the slides with the kids.

The fun doesn’t stop there.

When you aren’t in the water park, you can take advantage of the Castaway Play, which showcases mini-bowling, black light mini-golf, and an escape room.

Travel Tips for Visiting Hotels with Indoor Waterparks

Traveling to a hotel with an indoor waterpark can make for a fun and exciting vacation for the entire family.

However, it’s important to plan ahead and know what to expect when visiting a hotel with a waterpark.

Here are some tips to ensure you have the best experience possible.

Check Out the Waterpark before You Book Your Stay

You’ll want to research beforehand to ensure the hotel’s waterpark you are visiting has rides and attractions for your whole family.

Ask about access to the park and the types of rides available.

Additionally, inquire beforehand concerning height restrictions to avoid meltdowns at the waterpark if your child needs to be taller to go on a particular ride.

Check the Rules

Make sure to research the hotel’s policy on children under 18.

Some hotels may not allow children under a certain age in the waterpark area and may require adult supervision for those under 18.

Other policies you should also consider are the rules about the type of swimwear.

Plan Your Wardrobe Accordingly

When packing for a hotel, you should have a few key items.

These are essential items for any vacation, but especially where you will spend time in a waterpark.

  • Bathing suit
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses (optional)
  • Comfortable sandals or water-friendly shoes
  • Carry extra towels

Check the safety Regulations

This is especially important if you have children. Most waterparks will have lifeguards on duty and require all swimmers to wear life jackets.

Read up on the safety regulations before your trip to ensure your family is safe and has the best time possible.

Be Prepared To Spend Money

Remember to bring any items you may need for other activities in the hotel complex.

Many hotels with waterparks will also have gaming areas, arcades, and other attractions. Bring some extra money to play games and buy souvenirs.

Final Thoughts

After thoroughly exploring each hotel and its waterpark, I must say that my favorite of the three was Greate Wolf Lodge. The atmosphere was incredible, and I couldn’t get enough of the thrilling rides, relaxing pools, and expansive lazy rivers.

Not to mention, the food and hospitality of the staff were top-notch. I highly recommend anyone looking for an amazing vacation to check out this hotel!
