One of the nearly 700 Caribbean islands that make up the Bahamas, Eleuthera is a beach lovers’ paradise.

Famous for its pink sand shores and turquoise seas, this 110-mile-long and a one-mile-wide slice of paradise has no shortage of shoreline.

So, where do you start? Let’s take a deep dive into the best beaches in Eleuthera.

French Leave Beach

This iconic one-mile-long pink sand beach is one of the greatest natural treasures of Eleuthera.

Also known as Club Med Beach, this is the crown jewel of the Atlantic side of the island.

Thanks to the reefs not far from the shore, the waters stay calm most of the year. Occasionally though, you will find a surfing day here and there in the right season.

While you’ll see photographs of this beach everywhere, it is rarely busy. Easily one of the most secluded beaches in Eleuthera, it’s the perfect escape.

Lighthouse Beach

Soon to be a destination on the Disney Cruise Line, there has never been a better time to see the raw beauty of Lighthouse Beach.

While Disney is purportedly working to preserve the natural surroundings during this development process, it’ll undoubtedly change in the years to come.

Get in now and see this remarkable place as it has always been.

Due to the Disney construction, accessing the beach is a bit tricky. You’ll see a road heading down to Lighthouse Beach with parking at the end.

While the beach is nowhere in sight from there, you can walk over to it. Follow the trail down to the beach then walk about two miles until you see the lighthouse.

What to Expect? It is worth the walk but, of course, if you’re not used to the heat, it can be a bit intense.

Gaulding’s Cay

This secluded white sand beach has an electric turquoise sea and barely a soul in sight.

Bring your snorkeling gear and explore the coral just beyond the shoreline. This beach is even more beautiful under the sea!

Like many of the best beaches in Eleuthera, Gaulding’s Cay is a bit tricky to get to and has no facilities. From Gregory Town, just turn at Daddy Joe’s and continue right down a dusty road.

Ten Bay Beach

A calm beach with shallow water and plenty of shade from the trees dotting the beach, this is an excellent family-friend beach.

Located on the Caribbean side of Eleuthera, Ten Bay Beach rarely sees waves.

This beach does, however, see its fair share of visitors. We are talking both in terms of other tourists and sea life.

While you won’t find the same wide open space as some of the more secluded beaches, it’s well worth it.

You can walk incredibly far out into the water and only be waist-deep.

This offers a perfect vantage point for admiring the rainbow and sealine and maybe finding a sand dollar or two.

Rainbow Bay Beach

Another Caribbean-side wonder, Rainbow Bay Beach is a dreamy destination. The seafloor is sandy and you can see straight to the bottom.

Bring your snorkeling gear or just wade around in crystal-clear calm waters. Be sure to make your way down the area of rocks on the southern side of the beach for the best underwater view of the marine life.

You’ll find picnic tables, tiki huts, and lounge chairs free of charge.

The beach is rarely crowded so you’ll like to find a space to claim.

Just be sure to pack your drinks and a picnic if you’re spending the day here because there are no families.

Twin Cove Beach

Another picture-perfect postcard beach off a dirt road, Twin Cove Beach is a tucked-away treasure.

It’s two secluded spots. On the left side, you’ll find a snorkeling area while the right side is rocky. To get into the clearest waters, go all the way to life.

Planning Tip – Like most beaches on the Atlantic, the conditions vary quite at Twin Cove Beach. While they can be tranquil, they also get pretty rough from time to time so always check the weather before going to any Atlantic side beach.
